Marble Province Two-Unit Enemy Combinations:

Since each type is strong against only two other unit types, we need to break the 3-unit Provincial Combination into groups of 2 to see where our strengths and weaknesses lie.

Heavy Melee & Heavy Ranged– Mage units are strong against both Heavy Melee and Heavy Ranged. This doubled strength makes Mage our Main Unit type for Marble Provinces.

Barracks Mage units (Sorceress for Elves, Priest for Humans) are evenly weighted against both types; Banshees (Training Grounds) are weighted toward Heavy Ranged; Blossom Mages (Mercenary Camp) are weighted toward Heavy Melee units.

From this two-type enemy combo, we also know that Heavy Melee is strong against Heavy Ranged, and are about evenly matched against enemy Heavy Melee units. This makes Heavy Melee a good Support Unit.

Light Ranged & Heavy Melee– This two-type combination does not have a shared weakness the way that Heavy Melee and Heavy Ranged units share a weakness to Mage. However, Light Ranged units are strong against Heavy Melee, and are about even against enemy Light Ranged units.

Light Ranged & Heavy Ranged– This two-type combination also does not have a shared weakness the way that Heavy Melee and Heavy Ranged units share a weakness to Mage. However, Heavy Ranged units are strong against Light Ranged, and are about even against enemy Heavy Ranged units.

Troops to Train

Humans
Main Unit- Priest
Support Units- Archer, Paladin, Mortar

Elves
For Elven players fighting a Marble Province, Mage should be the Main Unit, but the Sorceress’ attack range does not allow her to go toe to toe with the Shady Characters. Blossom Mages are a bit better here because they have a longer range of attack and at Star Level 1 they have an 80% damage bonus against Heavy Melee.

Golem is considered by many to be the Main Unit for Elves in a Marble Province because they are strong against Mist Walkers and are neutral against enemy Heavy Ranged units. You will have to experiment to find what works best for you here.

Main Units– Sorceress, Blossom Mage, and Golem
Support Units– Archer, Treant

Marble Province-Specific Enemy Units

Mist Walker (Light Ranged)

Attack Range Movement Range
4 4

Mist Walkers are more weighted against Mage units, unlike our Mist Walker look-alike the Dryad which is weighted against Heavy Melee units. Mist Walkers have the highest initiative of any unit in the game at 21, and so they effectively turn off our ability to get a preview of the battlefield for any reconnoissance attempts before Manual Fights.

2 26-36 97

Knight (Heavy Melee)

Knights have the opposite bonuses of the Human’s Paladin unit. Knights have an Attack Bonus against Heavy Ranged, and a Defense Bonus against both Light Melee and Heavy Ranged, but the Defense Bonus is weighted more toward Heavy Ranged.

Vallorian Guards will show up in the early rounds of the Marble Tournament and then will start to be replaced by Knights as you progress. They have an Attack bonus against Heavy Ranged units only, and a defense bonus against both Light Melee and Heavy Ranged, but weighted toward Heavy Ranged.

Orc General (Heavy Melee)

Attack Range Movement Range
2 2

Orc Generals have a higher Unit Weight than Knights, so their squad sizes are smaller, but they have higher Attack and Hitpoints stats. Orc General Attack and Defense bonuses lean toward Light Melee.

Star Level Attack Damage Hitpoints
1 153-207 510
2 187-253 630

Cannoneer (Heavy Ranged)

Star Level Attack Range Movement Range
1 8 1
2 9 1
3 10 1

Cannoneer has an evenly weighted attack against both Light Melee and Light Ranged units, but has more defense against Light Ranged than Light Melee. Cannoneers have the longest attack range in the game at Star Level 3, and the only Attack Range (so far) that increases as it gets star level promotions.

Star Level Attack Damage Hitpoints
1 22-34 88
2 26-36 97
3 31-37 106

*Attack Damage and Hitpoints shown are for a single unit. To find the values for one squad, multiply either Attack or Hitpoints by the Squad Size.*

Do You Have Any of Those Little Finger Sandwiches?
The Chapter that you are in will determine the exact kinds and amounts of goods needed for negotiating/catering, but for Marble Tournament catering purposes, Marble, Crystal, and Elixir will be the most commonly asked for goods.
